Voting in the OCM DAO

Any holder of an OCM Genesis or OCM Katoshi NFT can vote for proposals and community surveys.

To participate in OCM DAO voting, you must verify your OCM asset ownership by connecting your Discord account and ETH wallet(s) and/or BTC wallet(s) holding your OCM Genesis and/or OCM Katoshi NFTs to the OCM website. Ensure that the holder roles assigned to your Discord username reflects the total number of ETH Genesis or ETH Katoshi assets, or total number of BTC Genesis or BTC Katoshi assets you own.

As of January 2024, voting is conducted in Discord channel #🗳️dao-polling using MEE6. Prop.House and Snapshot.org voting platforms will not be used until further notice.

Current voting types are:

  1. Community Survey, also known as community sentiment or temperature check

Voting on Community Surveys

A survey-style poll to gauge the sentiment or temperatur check of the community on issues that would benefit from further exploration or a timely resolution. Votes and results from Community Surveys are non-binding and are used to gather information only.

  • Survey Voting Duration: maximum 5 days

  • Voting System:

    • 1 holder = 1 vote

Voting on Full Proposals

A Full Proposal that has undergone community review and is now available for official community approval or rejection.

  • Proposal Voting Duration: 7 days

  • Voting System: token-based weighted voting

    • (1) OCM Genesis NFT = (1) vote

    • (1) OCM Katoshi NFT = (1) vote

    • An additional (1) bonus vote is given for each pair of tokens (1 Genesis + 1 Katoshi).

For example, if Bob owns 3 OCM Genesis and 2 OCM Katoshi, and he cast a vote of Yes in #🗳️dao-polling on a Full Proposal, then the total number of votes he cast would be 7 'Yes' votes on the Full Proposal.

That is ... 3 votes, one for each OCM Genesis + 2 votes, one for each OCM Katoshi + 2 bonus votes, one for each 'Genesis + Katoshi' token pair
