How can I get a Katoshi?
There are two ways to get Katoshi:
On Secondary Marketplaces:
purchasing a Katoshi from secondary marketplaces, like OpenSea and Nifty Gateway
purchasing a Genesis and a Dessert on secondary markets, and feeding your Dessert to your Genesis to create a new Katoshi
Which Katoshi were created from Genesis eating Desserts?
The hint is in the Katoshi token IDs:
Katoshi ID # 1-10000 = minted Katoshi, can be K1/K2/K3
Katoshi ID #10001+ = Incredible Katoshi K1 created from a Genesis eating a D1 Incredible Ice Pop Dessert
Katoshi ID #20001+ = Divine Katoshi K2 created from a Genesis eating a D2 Divine Donut Dessert
Katoshi ID #30001+ = Celestial Katoshi K3 created from a Genesis eating a D3 Celestial Cake Dessert
I am a Genesis holder. How can I claim my Katoshi?
To claim a Katoshi, a Genesis is required to eat a Dessert token.
1 Genesis NFT + 1 Dessert NFT → creates 1 Katoshi NFT and burns the Dessert NFT
A Genesis can eat at most one of each Dessert type. Once a Dessert is eaten, it is burned - meaning that Dessert is no longer usable or tradable. Your Genesis will remain unaltered after the claim process, and you will gain a Katoshi.
Ex. If OCM Genesis #9196 was to eat all three Dessert types (D1, D2 and D3):
If the above claims were made, then this Genesis holder would have:
burned Dessert NFTs D1, D2 and D3
Genesis #9196 NFT unaltered
Genesis #9196 cannot eat any more Desserts
claimed new Katoshi NFTs - Incredible K1 #19196, Divine K2 #29196 and Celestial K3
Example of OCM (Matching) Set - Genesis #9196 ate a D1 Dessert to create Katoshi K1 #19196, and ate a D2 Dessert to create Katoshi K2 #29196. Both the eaten D1 and D2 are burned when the K1 and K2 are created/minted, respectively, from Genesis #9196's DNA. [banner image credit to OCM community member, HeavyD]
I am a Genesis holder. How can I prepare for the Katoshi Claim (Dessert eating)?
Will claimed Katoshi NFTs be revealed immediately?
Feeding Genesis monkeys Desserts D1 or D2 will reveal the claimed Katoshi K1 or K2 immediately. However, Genesis fed with Dessert D3 will be revealed at a Celestial Katoshi reveal party.
The Katoshi collection is tradable on the Ethereum blockchain (ERC-721).
Is Katoshi all on-chain?
All of Katoshi’s metadata, describing traits, is stored on-chain. The images themselves are stored on InterPlanetary File System (IPFS).
What is the Katoshi NFT contract address?

When will the Celestial Katoshi K3 be revealed?
K3 in the public mint and Celestial Cake Dessert D3 eating will be revealed individually at scheduled online Celestial Celebration parties.
July 1, 2022 - Katoshi Reveal & Desserts Eating Party where the OCM Community celebrated a successfully mint and gathered for the random roll to reveal everyone's Katoshi. We all found out at the same time who got a K1 Gold fur, K2 Dragon fur or an extremely rare one-of-one K3!
Aligning with our values of Respect and Integrity, minted Katoshi NFTs were deployed with a commit-reveal scheme, in a provably fair manner, and on-chain. Like our Desserts draw, drawing of minted Katoshi was also randomized and powered by Chainlink VRF.
On Nov. 9, 2022, we had our first Celestial Celebration for Charlie Lee, creator of Litecoin and one esteemed OCM community member. Charlie fed his naked, snoutless and 5-zeros monkey, Genesis #2854, a very rare and delicious D3 Celestial Cake to reveal the very first Celestial Katoshi K3, Katoshi #30001.
Admire the Celestial Katoshi that have been revealed, and relive the unforgettable energy by tuning into past Celestial Celebration recordings here. More Celestial Celebrations coming!
Who are the artists behind the Katoshi collection?
The Katoshi collection started from our community going bananas over one of our legendary holder’s stellar derivative of his own Genesis back in late Sep. 2021. This wild reaction was the catalyst for these Academy Award-nominated artists (who are also community members) to join Metagood in creating the Katoshi collection.
Our team of incredibly talented artists (behind movies you’ve all seen, and with Academy Award nominations to their credit), have worked tirelessly to create the artistic and thoughtful details of Katoshi.
To name a couple of artists from our amazing Art Team:
Lead artist for Katoshi, Academy Award Nominee, Drew Winey
Jeff Gabor, winner of Annie Award, the top award in animation
Matthew Doble, former Supervising Animator at DNEG and Blue Sky Studios
Jeff Gabor
Matthew Doble
