# Bananas on Twitter

## **How does Bananas on Twitter work?**

1. **Connect all three of your accounts to** [**The Monkeyverse / OCM website**](https://onchainmonkey.com) **on your desktop.**\
   &#x20;         \* Ethereum wallet - where your OCM NFTs/monkeys are held\
   &#x20;         \* Discord account\
   &#x20;         \* Twitter account\
   &#x20; \* [Quick Guide on Connecting Your Accounts to the OCM website.](/wiki/navigating-ocm-website-and-discord/connect-your-accounts-to-ocm.md)<br>
2. **Bananas on Twitter**\
   \&#xNAN;**(a) Give-to-Earn** - give a Twitter Banana to another OCM holder and earn a Twitter Banana for yourself. \
   Do this by tagging @OnChainMonkey AND another Twitter handle in a tweet. Make sure to send a message that is meaningful, as that can earn you more bananas, as we explain later.\
   \
   \&#xNAN;**(b) Earn a Twitter Banana** - like !RISE in Discord, so we call it a !RISE banana\
   &#x20; \* Like, reply, retweet or quote tweet an official @OnChainMonkey tweet \
   &#x20;         \* Tag @OnChainMonkey in a new tweet \
   &#x20; NOTE: No other people are tagged, otherwise it is a Give-to-Earn tweet.

Give it a try. Setting it up is as easy as 1-2-3. Invite your fellow OCM monkeys to connect their accounts to the OCM website so they, too, can join the fun and receive the Bananas you give them.

{% hint style="info" %}
For Twitter give-to-earns, your monkey buddy also needs to have their [accounts connected to the OCM website](/wiki/navigating-ocm-website-and-discord/connect-your-accounts-to-ocm.md) to receive the Banana you've given them.\
Don't worry, as long as your accounts are connected, you'll still earn yours.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Account login/linkage to the OCM website "Monkeyverse" is only enabled from desktop browsers.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
By Twitter default, your Twitter account is public and tweets are unprotected. However, if your Twitter account and tweet visibility settings were modified to [private](https://help.twitter.com/en/safety-and-security/birthday-visibility-settings) or [protected](https://help.twitter.com/en/safety-and-security/public-and-protected-tweets), you will not be able to receive Bananas on Twitter.
{% endhint %}

### Twitter Banana Strategy

A good way to earn many bananas is to create a tweet that ONLY tags @OnChainMonkey, without tagging anyone else. Make engaging tweets about OCM. This will earn you 1 Banana via Twitter !RISE, 2b above. Then, as other OCM holders reply to your tweet, those are all Twitter give-to-earn where you are the recipient via 2a.

{% hint style="info" %}

* OCM’s official Twitter handle is @OnChainMonkey, <https://twitter.com/OnChainMonkey>.
* If the tagged Twitter account has not connected all three of their accounts to the OCM website, then only you will receive a Banana from Twitter give-to-earn.&#x20;
* If more than one OCM holder Twitter handle is tagged, you will receive a Banana from Twitter give-to-earn and one of the tagged Twitter handles will randomly receive a Banana from the “give” portion of your Twitter give-to-earn activity.
  {% endhint %}

### Accessing Bananas on Twitter Cooldown Timers:

In the `#🍌 offchain-bananas` channel, type:&#x20;

* **`/twitter-time`**

  &#x20;         e.g. **Twitter !RISE**: READY \
  &#x20;                **Twitter Give-to-earn**: 00:05:31 (\~5 minutes)

## **Banana on Twitter Examples**

If fellow OCM holder ‘GoodMonkey’ and ‘HappyMonkey’ were having fun with Bananas on Twitter, and already connected all three of their accounts to the OCM website:

### **Earn a Twitter !RISE Banana**

(i) Tag @OnChainMonkey in a new tweet or reply/quote tweet

> ex. 1) GoodMonkey crafts a new tweet “Looking forward to meeting the @OnChainMonkey fam IRL at NFT.NYC” \
> ex. 2) GoodMonkey replies or quote tweets an existing tweet and adds the @OnChainMonkey tag

(ii) Like, reply, retweet or quote tweet an official @OnChainMonkey tweet

> ex. 3) GoodMonkey ❤️ likes a tweet from @OnChainMonkey or a tweet with @OnChainMonkey already tagged \
> ex. 4) GoodMonkey replies, retweets or quote tweets an existing @OnChainMonkey tweet

These examples are Twitter !RISE activities. GoodMonkey would earn 1 Banana in each of these examples, as long as these Twitter activities had a 12-hour gap in between, i.e. ex. 1 was tweeted, and 12 hours passed before ex. 3 like ❤️ was made.

### **Twitter Give-to-Earn: give a Twitter Banana to an OCM buddy, and earn a Twitter Banana for yourself**

(i) Tag @OnChainMonkey AND the Twitter handle of another OCM holder in a new tweet or reply/quote tweet

> ex. 5) GoodMonkey crafts a new tweet, “Thrilled to have my friend @HappyMonkey join the amazing @OnChainMonkey community!” \
> ex. 6) GoodMonkey replies or quote tweets an existing tweet, and adds both @OnChainMonkey AND @HappyMonkey tags

(ii) Tag the Twitter handle of another OCM monkey in a reply or quote tweet where @OnChainMonkey is already tagged

> ex. 7) GoodMonkey replies or quote tweets an existing @OnChainMonkey tweet with @HappyMonkey tag added

(iii) Retweet an OCM monkey’s tweet where @OnChainMonkey is already tagged

> ex. 8) GoodMonkey retweets an old tweet by @HappyMonkey about OCM where @OnChainMonkey is tagged

These examples are Twitter give-to-earn activities. GoodMonkey would earn 1 Banana in each of these examples as long as these Twitter activities had a 12-hour gap in between, i.e. ex. 5 was tweeted, and 12 hours passed before ex. 7 was made.

HappyMonkey would receive 1 Banana in each of these examples, regardless of their own !RISE or give-to-earn wait timers. OCM holders can receive Bananas gifted from monkey buddies anytime.
